Azu Tiwaline & Cinna Peyghamy (FR)
2024
Nothing happens overnight. Behind every emergence, there’s years of work, thought and preparation – both intentional and unconscious – that’s gone unseen.
The collaboration between Azu Tiwaline and Cinna Peyghamy has been ongoing for years now. Both artists are solidly rooted in an interest for their respective cultural roots while continuously exploring the deep and polyrhythmic sides of music. At this years Insomnia Festival Azu Tiwaline and Cinna Peyghamy will play a concert on our Isbjørn stage and we couldn’t be more excited to see where their explorations will take us.
Azu Tiwaline is a producer inspired by the need to explore her origins, rooted in the Sahara. Her sound is a mix of the organic and the raw, vibrations from the spaces of the desert where entrancing music resonates and ecstatic rituals are commonplace.
Cinna Peyghamy is a musician and sound artist based in Paris. His interest in electronics and IT has led him to create his own sound production tools: glitch software, amps, synthesizers and motor-driven DIY instruments. He plays Tombak, a traditional Persian percussion that he transforms and blends with his modular system to transport us to a realm of solemn contemplation.
