bRUNA and Wooky + Alba G. Corral (ES)
2016
bRUNA and Wooky are central figures in Spain’s electronic music scene, and regulars line-up regulars at both Sònar and Primavera Sound festivals in Barcelona. Together, they co-direct Lapsus, an artistic collective project which includes a record label, a radio program and, of course, Lapsus Festival, an avant-garde electronic music festival held annually in Barcelona.
bRUNA (Carles Guajardo)’s career as a musician has taken him to the Red Bull Music Academy, having released his debut And It Matters To Me To See You Smiling (2009) and a follow-up Thence (2013) via spa.RK Records, both named Album of the Year in Spain.
Wooky (Albert Salinas)’s first release was The Ark EP on Lapsus Records, followed by his debut Montjuïc (2014) via spa.RK. Earlier this year, the two musicians joined forces and released the split album Archives together. Each musician took one side of the LP to create a work of experimental electronica and ambiance that defies boundaries, pushing their creative talents and versatility even further.
For their live shows, they will be collaborating with Alba G. Corral, one of Spain’s leading visual artists, in a project that is presented with We Are Europe together with Sònar Festival.
