We are pleased to host Noura Tafeche, who will present her lecture performance The Zionverse.
The Zionverse unfolds a digital ecosystem where user-based and institutional propaganda, genocide denial, and deflection are normalized, distributed, and transformed into viral, self-incriminating content. The work traces how “Israeli” youth and soldiers participate in these dynamics, while social media platforms amplify them and enable systemic impunity.
Noura Tafeche describes herself as a visual artist, onomaturga and independent scholar, working across installations, videos, neologisms, laboratories, encyclopedic-themed miniature drawings, and critical research. Her interests span media studies, visual cultures, philosophy of language, the aesthetics of online micro-cultures, and the visual representation of speculative imaginaries.
Her academic background is rooted in post-human and critical studies, enriched by influences from net.art and radical humor. She graduated in Media Art at the Accademia di Brera. Beyond academia, she credits The Influencers Festival as her “real school,” a space that has profoundly shaped her approach and practice.
The Zionverse lecture is made in collaboration with The Void.
THE VOID (T.V.) is a research project on tactical video and an audiovisual publishing platform for practice-based research hosted at the Institute of Network Cultures. It is formed by Tommaso Campagna, Giulia Timis, and Jordi Viader Guerrero.
Noura Tafeche is presented through the TIMES project, and is a co-curation between Nuits Sonores and Insomnia Festival in Tromsø. TIMES is supported financially by Creative Europe.
