Since debuting on Rotterdam based imprint Nous’Klaer 6 years ago, Thessa Thorsing, aka upsammy, has carved out a profound sound within the more bass-heavy and trippy registers of club music.  Aside from being a skilled producer, upsammy is also well versed behind the booth. With a residencies at Amsterdam Noord and NTS, and invitations to festivals such as Unsound and Rewire at her resume, upsammy plays music from the more oddball lineages of techno aswell as experimental DnB, but does however never confine to any one genre.

For Insomnia 2024 we’re happy to present upsammy in a live performance alongside Italian percussion virtuoso, Valentina Magaletti, whose versatile technique and tireless commitment to explorative rhythmics has seen her collaborate with a long list of contemporaries. She’s worked with everyone from Thurston Moore to Nicholas Jaar, and has ongoing projects with Al Wooton as Holy Tongue (with whom they recently released a stellar album together with Shackleton).  and Raime under the moniker Moin.
