Dub&Dal presents Soundsystem Workshop – Rig It, Tune It
With Operators from three soundsystem crews –
- Niels Nielsen, Fredrik Einevoll – Subsonisk Samband, Tromsø
- mellowdramatics & DJ Dae – Black Obsidian Sound System, London
- Aarti Kriplani – Angel Audio, Berlin
We start with soundsystem culture; its roots in Jamaica and how it grew into a global practice. Then operators from each crew talk through their own stacks: enclosures, amps, DSP, and the reasoning behind each choice.
For the hands-on part we will rig Subsonisk Samband together, so you can touch and feel the system. Then we will tune it by ear, playing reference tracks until it sits right in the room.
Straight after, B.O.S.S. play tunes on the system we just set up, with warm dal by Aarti until 21:00, come hungry!
No prior experience needed, curiosity is enough. Workshop will be in English.
